Die Vrystaat het die hoogste getal plaasaanvalle van al die provinsies gehad, soos wat weerspieël word in die onlangse derde kwartaal se misdaadstatistieke van 2020/21. Dr. Jane Buys, Veiligheidsrisiko-analis van Vrystaat Lanbou (VL), sê die syfers toon ‘n toename van 53,85%.

Die sprinkaanuitbraak in die Noord-Kaap is tans onder beheer maar die situasie word fyn dopgehou. So sê Danie Jacobs, voorsitter van Agri Noord-Kaap se omgewingsakekomitee. Hy deel dat daar egter nog swerms in onder meer die Kenhart- en Carnavon-omgewings is.
