Dryland winter crop farmers are advised to wait for sufficient moisture before planting and stay within the normal planting window. The department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries advises farmers to be conservative in their planting regarding planting density/the type of cultivar and area being planted. Irrigation farmers should also reduce the planting area in line with water restrictions in their areas.
