Premier donate equipment to North West Community

The tractors and other agricultural equipment handed over by North West Premier Bokone Bophirima Supra Mahumapelo last week was all that the 37 families of the De Paarl Community near Lichtenburg needed to start planting. They are also the beneficiaries of 4 500 hectares of land restored through a land claim process in 2002 agter been removed from the land in 1948. Since the restoration of the land, almost R40 million was spent to secure the land and an extra R15 milliom was spent to ensure sustainability and development.

Brian Setswambung, spokesperson of the premier’s office says, the equipment values at R6 million, Now the community members can start cultivating crops. They will also create their own jobs and eliminate poverty…..
