OFM brings you news for the wild at heart in our weekly wildlife, conservation and game industry feature Fair Game.

This week we take a look at news from the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) about progress with the Integrated Strategic Management of Rhinoceros. DEA Minister Edna Molewa announced a more than 10% decrease in the number of rhino poached in 2016 compared to 2015.

Also in the line-up we continue the discussion with the manager of hunting affairs at the SA Hunters and Game Conservation Association, Johan van de Giessen, about permits and documents hunters need during hunting season. We end with a story about lion bone export quotas, with the President of the SA Hunters and Game Conservation Association, Dr Gerhard Verdoorn, saying they are very worried this would lead to an increase in wildlife crimes.
