Agri SA: Farmers are the dinner table champs

OFM News agri editor Sabrina Dean speaks to Agri SA senior economist Hamlet Hlomendlini about an opinion piece he recently wrote about the role of South Africa’s farmers. He says farmers are the champions of the dinner table and it is important to give recognition to the work they are doing. He says although agriculture might not have a very big direct contribution to the GDP, the contribution along the value chain and towards the wellbeing of society is far greater. The discussion also deals with some reflections on the past year and hopes for 2017.
