Lieutenant-Colonel Mpho Kwinika, who is the former president of the South African Police Union, has decided to speak out about the retaliation he faced after helping to uncover irregularities in a R45-million police tender for a cellphone surveillance device commonly referred to as a “cellphone grabber.” He says he hopes the Commission of Inquiry into the criminal justice system will accommodate him after being forced out of the police for exposing tender fraud.
