Reasons for the huge feed price increase in recent years

According to Stockfarm from Plaasmedia, feed prices have increased substantially in recent years. According to experts, the possible reasons are fixed costs at feed mills which are influenced by factors such as load shedding and unforeseen power cuts. Raw materials and exchange rates also play a major part in higher increases. The exchange rate of strong currencies, especially the rand/dollar exchange rate is an important factor affecting the price of raw materials. Other factors influencing feed prices, include rising fuel prices which means that transport costs will have an impact too.
