Applications for Covid-19 funding by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development open today and continue until April 22. This comes after the department made R1.2 billion available for assistance to mostly small scale farmers to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19-pandemic in South Africa. The assistance will be given in the form of vouchers to these and farmers in communal areas as well. This was announced by minister Thoko Didiza on Monday in Pretoria when the media and other roleplayers in the agricultural sector watched the session online and had an opportunity to pose questions.
