No taxi strike in Vaal planned - SANTACO

The regional chairperson of SANTACO in Sedibeng in the Vaal, Stompie Mali, has denied rumours of a taxi strike to take place on Wednesday 27 March. This follows a message doing rounds on social media saying taxi operators are planning to have a taxi shutdown again around the Vaal. The message says the strike action will be a reaction to poor road conditions in the Emfuleni local municipality. Mali however strongly denies this, calling it fake. He assured commuters they should not panic, as taxis will be operating. Mali adds they do not know who created this message.
