The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has reacted with shock to the earlier protests by the National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges across the country. The department’s Chief Director of Human Resources and Labour Relations, Gladys Mapheto, tells OFM News that the department was taken by a surprise when members of Nehawu embarked on a national strike at TVET colleges which lasted for at least two weeks.
