The controversial Vrede Dairy Project continues to make headlines after Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane released her long-awaited report, yesterday. The investigation was started more than four years ago when DA member of the provincial legislature Roy Jankielsohn laid a complaint. Meanwhile, the project became one of the key projects that illustrated how the infamous Gupta-family benefited from government tenders. Media reports also highlighted how the money that was siphoned off from this project paid – according to the #GuptaLeaks – for the Gupta wedding at Sun City.
