Man arrested in connection with murder of Tlokwe Mayor's son

The office of Tlokwe Municipality Mayor, Kgotso Khumalo, has applauded police for the arrest of a 22-year-old man in connection with the murder of Khumalo's son Mike Maimane at the weekend in Ikageng, Potchefstroom. Khumalo's spokesperson, Victor Boqo says justice can now take its course and the speedy arrest brings some comfort to the family. Boqo says Maimane had a passion for arts and photography and had a diploma in television production. Maimane, who was unemployed at the time of his murder was humble and had a good sense of humour.
Maimane's funeral service is tomorrow at the Banquet Hall in the city. He will be laid to rest at the local cemetery. His body was found in the street on by a passerby at Extension 11. Police said at the time he was stabbed to death. The suspect will appear in the local Magistrate's Court soon.
