The DA says it has evidence that police officers were among the 'white shirts’ who were ordered to remove disruptive MPs from the National Assembly during the State of the Nation Address.
The Democratic Alliance's Federal Chair, James Selfe, was speaking to the media in Cape Town at the weekend following the party’s two day Federal Council meeting.
Violence erupted in Parliament during President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation Address last week, amid the controversial deployment of more than 440 soldiers.
The DA has now filed an application in the Western Cape High Court, in a bid to declare the army’s presence in the Parliamentary precinct for non-ceremonial reasons, unconstitutional.
Selfe says on top of this, they’ve discovered that government went against a court order.
