Zuma to field questions in National Assembly

DA leader Mmusi Maimane says his party has requested that Parliamentary Speaker Baleka Mbete not chair today's question and answer session by President Jacob Zuma.
Zuma will answer questions in the National Assembly for the last time this year. His previous sessions have descended into chaos with the EFF routinely refusing to let him speak.
Maimane said Mbete is Zuma's number one praise singer and the central defender for the executive. He said the job of the Speaker in Parliament is not to defend the executive but to defend the Constitution and South Africans.
Zuma will answer questions on ministers Mosebenzi Zwane and Des Van Rooyen's bids to stop the release of the State of Capture report.
He will also answer questions on any agreements reached with students regarding fee increases for 2017 as well as the steps taken to satisfy the concerns expressed by ratings agencies.
This will be Zuma's first question-and-answer session in Parliament since the release of the State of Capture report.
