Police in the Northern Cape have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the murder of a couple and their son in De Aar at the weekend. Police spokesperson, Olebogeng Tawana, says the suspect was arrested at his home in Sunrise, De Aar on Sunday. His arrest comes a day after the bodies of Glenwill Makaleni, his wife Gladys and their ten-year-old son, Gladwill were found in their home in the early hours of Saturday. They were found in different rooms. A family member contacted police when she found the house locked and the couple failed to answer their phones. Tawana says it has not yet been determined how the attacker gained entrance to the house.
The suspect is expected to appear in the local Magistrate’s Court on three murder charges soon. The couple were employees at the Department of Education in the Northern Cape's regional office in De Aar.
