FS clinics to be inspected soon

The Public Service Commission (FSC) in the Free State will soon conduct inspections at clinics in the province. Provincial Commissioner Henk Boshoff says 10 clinics from the five districts in the province have been selected for on-site inspections. The Commission visited hospitals in the province last year and found a serious shortage of staff, medication and a backlog in the maintenance of medical equipment. A report on the issue was tabled in Parliament late last year. Boshoff says the exact date of inspections is unknown.

The Free State provincial cabinet met with the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) two weeks ago to discuss among other things the shortage of medications at clinics and HIV/AIDS in the province.
