The North West province hopes to increase its employment numbers in the tourism sector with the completion of its world class conference centre in Mmabatho in September.

David Mogashoa, who is on the province's tourism board, was speaking at the Tourism Indaba which is underway at the Durban International Convention Centres.

He says there are currently 330 000 people employed in the tourism sector and hopes of increasing this seem good as the city awaits the bid outcome to host the United Nations Environmental Conference which takes place next year.
