Mbalula ban will have ar reaching effects: economist

An economist says the decision to suspend some sports bodies from bidding to host international events will have far reaching effects on society.

Sports and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula yesterday barred SA Rugby, Cricket South Africa, Athletics SA and Netball SA from bidding for major sporting events due to a lack of transformation.

Economist Mike Schussler says international events bring in revenue and help job creation.
