Community health workers in the North West who had been on strike since March 7th will return to work tomorrow.

The North West Department of Health spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane says the department, together with the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) agreed on a number of issues at a meeting in Mafikeng yesterday. Nehawu earlier opposed privatisation and outsourcing.

Lekgethwane says the department will establish a task team to assist workers with training to enable them to be employed on a permanent basis. The minimum stipend rate of R2 000 will increase by 5%.
