Popular ANC delegates to be in the forefront at upcoming elections

The ANC in the Free State says the party's leadership will no longer select candidates to contest the upcoming municipal elections, but rather the people will.
ANC provincial secretary, William Bulwane, says this is in accordance with an announcement made by President Jacob Zuma in his January 8 speech last month. He says ANC delegates who are preferred by residents in their communities will contest the polls.
Bulwane says the party is in the process of setting out a target for the elections and will be structuring the party’s manifesto.
