Miriam Altman is a renowned economist and TED Talk speaker. She is currently working with Gauteng's local government on water scarcity. But wait for it—she's also a jazz musician! She is based in Cape Town and has released her first set of singles from her upcoming debut album this year.

She's collaborating with some of South Africa's best session musicians and producers. Her first single, The Train, was inspired by her work on local infrastructure and produced by her friend Yvonne Chaka Chaka. It is an original composition. The second single, released last week, is a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry About A Thing."
