There are a number of other faces in the Proteas ODI squad, for the three-match series against Australia, and this includes the captain, Temba Bavuma, who picked up a hamstring injury will leading South Africa to the historic World Test Championship title in London, back in July.
The teenage fast bowler, Kwena Maphaka, was also a late addition to the squad after he was initially just selected for the three-match T20 international series.
Bavuma says they are excited to build on what the younger players have done in the T20 international series.
