The Scotland coach, Gregor Townsend, believes the time is right for the Glasgow Warriors centre, Sione Tuipulotu, to lead the Scottish international team.
The 27-year-old Australian-born player was named as the Scottish captain for the first time.
Tuipulotu was very instrumental in the Warriors winning the United Rugby Championship early in the year, while he played a big part in their win against the Stormers in Stellenbosch on the weekend.
The former Scotland flyhalf, Townsend, said Tuipulotu is definitely the right man for the job.
