A decision was taken by the South African Citrus Growers’ Association to voluntarily close exports to the European Union from the 16th of September, in a gradual manner. This decision comes with just a month left of the current export season. The organisation’s CEO, Justin Chadwick, explains that the decision was made in relation to the ten Citrus Black Spot notifications of non-compliance on South African citrus detected during this season.
