The reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, as extended his lead at the top of the Formula 1 drivers’ championship by winning the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.
Starting in 14th on the grid Verstappen outclassed the rest of the field to extend his lead, although Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Botas crashing out in the first lap played into his hands.
Verstappen's Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, made it a one-two for the constructor by finishing in second.
