Predicted fuel prices to hurt already burdened South Africans

The steep fuel prices that have been predicted by the Automobile Association (AA) for the end of October are set to put a further dent in the pockets of burdened South Africans. According to the North West University (NWU) Professor, Waldo Krugell, consumers are really struggling with the fuel price increases and this is evidenced by the latest inflation figures released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) on Wednesday which show September inflation increased slightly to 5% from 4.9% in August. Krugell further says the effects of this petrol price increase will trickle down to other expenses causing further burden on citizens.
