The African blue tick, Asian blue tick and red-legged tick are all primary vectors of anaplasmosis, which is also known as gallsickness. Dr Berry Mutowembwa, a veterinarian at the Agricultural Research Council, explains that symptoms of the disease include a high fever and constipation in animals and if not treated, it may lead to death.
