Africa in the spotlight: Uganda goes green and Botswana’s credit downgraded

Ugandan lawmakers’ decision to pass the National Climate Change Bill to cut greenhouse gas emissions has been welcomed by climate change activists. The move was amongst some of the biggest business developments coming out of the continent in recent weeks. The Business Hour team spoke to Executive overseeing Africa regulatory and business intelligence at ENS Africa, Celia Becker, to gain some insight into these developments including Moody’s recent downgrade of Botswana’s credit rating due to the deteriorating fiscal strength.
