The Al Jama-ah party is in court this morning to obtain an urgent interdict for the release of the body of Yusuf Kiriboto. The 30-year-old's body was found in the Bokmakirrie canal over 2 months ago, after he disappeared into the Vygieskraal canal after attempting to save 8-year-old Abeda. Speaking to VOC Breakfast this morning, Al Jama-ah leader and member of parliament Ganief Hendricks said the misinformation around identification of foreigners upon death has led to the delay in burial of Kiriboto. Hendricks said DNA was not necessary as the courts had accepted the identification of the Tanzanian man by his co-workers. Al Jama-ah will be calling on parliament to amend its policy on burials for foreigners or will institute its own private bill if needed.
