So institutionalized or systemic racism is still embedded as normal practice within South Africa today. You our listener can attest to the various issues covered weekly from land restitution to forced evictions and the victimization associated with being born a child of color in present day South Africa. The unwavering hand of white supremacy is alive and well in ‘’Democratic’’ South Africa as we read between the lines daily. Heads are rolling and it’s not just Cecils - A group of geomaticians from UCT together with the South African Human rights commission have come together to create a dialogue hoping to rid the racist system within institutions amongst management, academics and students alike and bring about reform. The aim? To build a racism free South Africa.
