Bokaap Civic and City reacts to minstrel scuffle in Bokaap

So since Sunday, all everyone has been talking about on social media is the chaos erupted in Bo-kaap during an informal minstrel’s parade. Members of the public were trampled upon when a scuffle broke out between troop members just outside of the Biesmiellah restaurant., and according to some reports, there were alleged gun-shots. I have to emphasize that this has been disputed by a few people, although three of our sources said indeed gunshots were heard. One of our staff members was in the crowds and was injured as well.
The exact details surrounding the incident is not known, however Osman Shaboodien Chairperson of Bo-Kaap Civic Association as well as Safwaan Laubscher from the Ratepayers Association joins us now to try and make sense of what happened.
