An exciting new production of Hamlet is about to open at the Theatre On The Bay. Directed by Fred Abrahamse and starring Marcel Meyer as Hamlet, the production is modeled on the first recorded performance of Shakespeare outside of Europe, which took place on a boat off the eastern shores of South Africa in 1608.
Marcel Meyer will be Rodney Trudgeon’s guest on People of Note this week and he’ll be talking about the production and its setting on a platform in a large tank of water with only 5 male actors playing all the roles.
