The Bank of Namibia has raised the repo rate by 25 basis points to 7%. The move was expected as consumer prices rose by 0.3% in September this year, with inflation coming in at 5.4%, up from 5% in August 2026 and 3.5% in September 2025. The central bank uses the repo rate to contain demand and thus inflation. During the announcement, Governor Ebson Uanguta set out the reasons.
