David “Joke” Ledwaba is a South African stand-up comedian, MC and entertainer based in Alexandra, Johannesburg. His stage name speaks to his natural ability to find humour in everyday situations, while his performance style combines observational comedy, storytelling, quick wit and character-driven performances. Beyond stand-up, David is expanding his creative work through digital content, writing and hosting, with a broader ambition of using entertainment to showcase the creativity and talent coming out of South African townships. His work is ultimately centred on connecting with audiences through stories that are authentically local but universally relatable.
