She tells the story of a facilitator in Noms Amur who received just one pair of donated school shoes. Early one morning, she saw a high school boy walking with broken shoes tied together with wire. Despite his poverty, he was still committed to going to school. When she gave him the new shoes, he simply left his old broken shoes behind and said, "Bless you, bless us, and bless the ones who donated so they can help more children like me." Dr. Rina uses this story to remind listeners that God calls us to leave the old brokenness and hurt behind, and to walk forward in the new life He has prepared for us.
