Meta is exploring a new paid subscription for its global messaging app, WhatsApp, which will give users access to premium features.

This move is part of a broader strategy to create an additional revenue stream that works alongside the company’s large advertising business.

“WhatsApp is testing a new, optional subscription called WhatsApp Plus, designed for users who want more ways to organise and personalise their experience,” the company confirmed in a statement.
