DRAM aims to remove social and environmental barriers to improve the quality of life for Persons with Disabilities. The Department of Women, Youth and People with Disabilities leads the government's equity, equality, and empowerment efforts for this community. Since 1994, South Africa has made significant progress in providing access to education, healthcare, housing, and social protection for Persons with Disabilities. The Department of Social Development remains committed to their empowerment and rights assertion, ensuring a more inclusive society.
