Jones Netshipise and Mpho Mashita celebrate a woman who recently graduated with a PhD from Wits in July after facing financial setbacks that led to her becoming a cleaner after matric. Her story of hope, overcoming and breaking a long streak of generational curses is so inspiring. She feared that she would live her whole life as a domestic worker because that’s what her parents did all their lives. Now the Deputy Head of the Academic Information Systems Unit at Wits University, Dr Millicent Motheogane is our Breakfast Champion.
