Joburg mayor pledges R800 million to resolve ongoing water crisis

As water protests flared in Coronationville, Westbury, and Ivory Park, Joburg Mayor Dada Morero announced that the city will commit R800 million to tackle the crisis. Meeting residents face-to-face in Westbury, Morero promised new reservoirs, but locals vowed to keep demonstrating until taps run reliably. National government has also ordered Joburg to put short-term relief measures in place.
