The highly anticipated Madlanga Commission, investigating police corruption and political interference, has delayed the start of its public hearings. Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi confirmed the delay was due to the Department of Justice failing to provide necessary ICT systems and infrastructure. The Minister has suspended the department’s director-general and deputy director-general for ICT pending investigations. While some equipment has been delivered, key systems like secure networks and forensic data storage are still being procured.
