A Daily Maverick investigation has uncovered explosive links between suspended IDT CEO Tebogo Malaka and a contractor who helped pay for her fancy new R16 million home. At the same time, workers in a government job programme are still waiting for their wages. Reporter Pieter-Louis Myburgh tells Phemelo how businessman Collen Mashawana made at least two payments towards Malaka’s luxury house in the upmarket Waterfall Country Estate just as his foundation was about to be appointed by the IDT.
