But new research out of the University of Saskatchewan reveals a material that can form tiny "cages" of ice that trap liquids and gases, which can lead to explosions in pipelines. Dr. John Tse, Canada Research Chair of Materials Science and a professor in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at the University of Saskatchewan, joins Tamara Cherry to chat about what this research means for the future of pipeline safety.
