Today’s bird call is the Jackal Buzzard. They are quite large raptors, or birds of prey, widely spread throughout South Africa and usually found in mountainous or hilly country. The name Jackal Buzzard derives from their ‘Jackal-like’ call.

Today’s bird call is the Soft-plumaged Petrel. Generally silent at sea, these calls are from their breeding grounds, Tristan du Cunha in the Southern Ocean.”
