Leabua Junior Seromo is a 22-year-old Data Science and
Statistics student at the University of Cape Town, whose journey
has been profoundly shaped by his passion for chess. Starting
the game at just nine years old, Leabua quickly demonstrated
extraordinary talent, qualifying for his first South African Junior
Chess Championship at age ten and securing the national junior
title by thirteen. His dedication and skill earned him the
prestigious award for Best Primary School Chess Player in
Bloemfontein, marking him early on as a formidable competitor
in the chess community.
Leabua’s strategic mindset and competitive spirit were further
