Trust in the South African Police Service has plummeted to a record low, with only 22% of South Africans expressing confidence in the institution. The findings are contained in a Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) survey. Mpho Mashita and Jones Netshipise are joined by Professor Kholofelo Rakubu, Criminologist and Head of Department of Law, Safety and Security Management at the Tshwane University of Technology to talk about what the causes of this decline in trust could be and how it can be fixed.
