the Information Regulator (Regulator) in partnership with Naspers and Media Monitoring Africa (MMA) co-hosted the Children Data Protection and Online Safety Session at the Sizwile School for Deaf Children in Dobsonville, Soweto. The session focused on the theme “Protecting personal information of children online” and incorporated the national theme in line with Child Protection Week (CPW) of “Working together in ending violence against children”. Annually CPW is commemorated in the country to raise awareness on the rights of children as articulated in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and Children's Act. This year CPW is commemorated from 29 May to 5 June 2025.
