A devastating house fire in Mayfair, Johannesburg, has claimed the lives of four young children, sparking grief in the community and raising urgent questions about fire safety in childcare facilities.
The fire broke out mid-morning on Monday around 11:00 AM at a private residence on the corner of 8th Avenue and West Street. According to Johannesburg Emergency Services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi, the home was reportedly operating as an informal creche at the time of the incident.
