Mandisi Arnold Sindo is a multi-award-winning South African theatre innovator, cultural entrepreneur, and artivist with over two decades of experience in performance and community-based arts. He is the founder and CEO of Khayelitsha Art School and Rehabilitation Centre (KASIRC) and Umjita Artivist Entrepreneurs PTY LTD, and co-founder of Iselwa Lesizwe Theatre Company. Recognised as the originator of shack theatres in South Africa, Mandisi has dedicated his life to accessible,
grassroots creative education. His motto, “Inspiring the Uninspired, Informing the Uninformed and Educating the Uneducated,” speaks to his mission of using the arts as a tool for transformation and empowerment. Mandisi has toured internationally—across the USA, Brazil, India, Switzerland, France, Zimbabwe, and more—delivering performances, facilitating workshops, and speaking as a cultural leader.
