EFF challenge Phala Phala report vote in ConCourt

EFF supporters marched to the Constitutional Court as the party and the African Transformation Movement (ATM) challenged Parliament’s decision not to adopt the section 89 panel report that could have led to an impeachment inquiry into President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala scandal. The EFF wants the Constitutional Court to set aside the National Assembly’s decision in December 2022 to not adopt the report by an independent panel chaired by former chief justice Sandile Ngcobo.The EFF is also challenging the legality of one of the Rules of the National Assembly, which allowed the vote to take place. We get some analysis on the case from legal expert, Mpumelelo Zikalala.
