New Model Adviser editor Will Robins caught up with Tessa Lee, managing director of Moneyinfo, to discuss cost cutting, how to reduce reliance on postage, how to maintain cyber security and protect client data amid the remote working boom and wet signatures. Tessa also expand upon her call on advisers to abandon email as their means of sending client communications. Phishing attacks are on the rise! This discussion also touches on how to ensure your Zoom conversations are protected. [around18:00 in].

Firms have to pay hundreds or even thousands of pounds to have postage diverted, depending on how many offices they run, whether they are shared and so on. With lockdown arrangements in place there has been some discussion whether advisers should be making trips to pick up post. But with providers still sending documents by mail and failing to offer digital signatures some firms feel they have no choice. Tessa talks about what firms can and can’t’ be done using shared documents, portals and e-signatures. [about 8:00 minutes in]

Of course we all know there is more to a business than just hard work, there are teams and a social side too. Tessa explains the brilliant ways her team have been getting together to let off steam via video conferencing, and how to run a pub quiz!
